Technique Hop – “Stunning Stencils”

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!  This month we are highlighting stunning stencils from Close to My Heart. This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.  If you are coming from Tamara Sandwisch’s Blog, you are on the right track!

Supply List (all Close to My Heart): Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Ink, Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Ink, Stencil Pack 2, Here’s the Story stamp set (Feb 2022 SOTM), White Daisy Cardstock, Sweet As Honey Paper Packet + Sticker Sheet, Here & Now stamp set, Sundance Ink, Black Ink, Embroidered Borders stamp set, Embroidered Circles stamp set, Classic Flourishes stamp set, and Gold Glitter Gems.

First, I layered the two Distress Oxide inks using the stencil to create the color I wanted for the circles on the background. Washi tape works well to hold both your paper and the stencil in place while inking. Then, I stamped the outside circles with the Embroidered Circles stamp set adding a fun, whimsical accent. My stash of stamp sets served well for this layout. The frame is from this month’s stamp of the month. The sticker from Sweet As Honey fits nicely inside the image. The stamped stitching along the bottom goes well with the stamping on the circles. And the little stamps on the Classic Flourishes stamp set are the perfect way to add the look of Disney magic and sparkle!

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto Danielle Wagner’s Blog where you will find some additional artwork highlighting stunning stencils!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!
